Yes, absolutely! We host both member and non-member weddings on our campus.

Not at all! As long as you understand the sanctity of marriage and are willing to work with our process, we’re more than happy to have your wedding at our church.

Yes, and that is our preference! All weddings must be approved by our rector and follow specific but clear guidelines. Outside officiants are allowed with approval. For more information, contact our rector directly at willberry@saintjamesji.org.

Not at all! As long as one of the members of the couple is a baptized Christian, anyone can get married at St James regardless of denominational background.

The Episcopal Church follows a traditional wedding format found in The Book of Common Prayer. It includes a procession, words of welcome, the declaration of consent, readings, vows, exchanging of rings and the pronouncement of the couple.

We have four spaces available for wedding ceremonies: our historic sanctuary, our indoor chapel, our event center, and our outdoor chapel. Each space has its own capacity requirements.

For non-members, hosting a wedding in our main sanctuary costs $3,000 plus additional fees for clergy and musicians. Our indoor and outdoor chapel both cost $1250.

A refundable deposit of $750 must be paid at least thirty days in advance of the wedding. The organist fee must be paid regardless of whether or not they are used. This is known as a “bench fee.”Receptions at the Event Center cost an additional $1500 if the wedding is in the main sanctuary but that fee is waved if the ceremony is also in the Event Center.
